Profile - Gary Leckie (Senior Partner)

Gary is the Senior Partner of Zero Three Care.  He has been working with people with a learning disability since the age of 13 years when he worked in a voluntary capacity supporting people with a learning disability to take exchange holidays abroad. He trained as a Learning Disability Nurse and has amassed over 25 years of experience, initially managing services for people with a learning disability and then taking the role of Area Manager and Regional Director. He has worked within both community and hospital settings, gaining experience within the NHS, Social Services, Independent and Voluntary sectors. Gary holds a qualification in counselling, a Behavioural Nurse Specialist award and a Postgraduate qualification in the Management of Community Care from the Tizard Centre, University of Kent at Canterbury. Gary has learned from many experiences over his time working in learning disability services specialising in Autism and challenging behaviour and, in 2003, finally decided to branch out himself in order to provide the high quality services that he feels people with a learning disability deserve.

Although born in Scotland, Gary moved to England at the age of 18 and has lived in Essex for over fifteen years.  As a parent himself, Gary is determined to provide safe and homely environments for people with a learning disability and works closely with parents, acknowledging the stresses of finding the right home for their son or daughter.

Gary is passionate about motor racing and this passion is reflected in his choice of names for the care homes – Villeneuve, Schumey’s, Estoril, Mirabeau, Imola, Rascasse and Maranello.
